Ready to Forgive
Psalms 86:3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
Psalms 86:4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Psalms 86:5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
These words were written in the time of the tabernacle, an era more commonly referred to as the dispensation of law. The law was written in the cold tablet of stone with rigid guidelines and little room for mercy, however, God told Moses He would meet the priesthood at the mercy seat, the place where the almighty resides.
Go ahead, bury your head in the scriptures, cross every T and dot every i, place your trust in the written word alone and it is of a surety that you will miss the true desire of God.
God dwells in mercy!
Where we will snub our noses at the slightest infraction, God longs to exercise mercy, he truly is ready to forgive!
