Revelation of Judgement

Proverbs 24:15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Proverbs 24:17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

Proverbs 24:18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Wow, what an amazing revelation of judgement. God is willing to work on your behalf against your enemy, to bring an end to the grief they have caused you.

However, if you allow yourself to revel in their demise, God instantly  ends his assault at the front line of judgement.

Why?

Consider this:

Is it possible that God sees something redeamable in your enemy that you cannot comprehend due to your circumstances? Is it possible that your revelry in their defeat has just robbed them of a revelation of judgement?

Matthew 5:43-48

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Can it be said any better than that?
