Pray Without Ceasing
Psalms 141:1 Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
Psalms 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Psalms 141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
The altar of incense was an article in the holy place of the tabernacle. God commanded the priesthood to keep the incense burning continually. This article represents our prayer life, we should pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16. Rejoice evermore.
17. Pray without ceasing.
18. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
It is a wondrous thing when the tongue is held at bay by the spirit of God, it removes fuel from the fire and maintains a vigil over the souls of men.
