The word SELAH is a transliteration of the original Hebrew word (a transliterated word is recorded in the scripture by it’s original phonetic pronunciation)
Its most common interpretation means to pause and reflect. When it is used in a musical context it typically means a musical interlude.
Here in Psalm 54, SELAH separates David’s memory of the Godless Ziphims betrayal in verses 1-3 and the mighty power of God to deliver in verses 4-7!
Sometimes we’re only one SELAH away from victory; when all hope is teetering over a mountain of circumstances, just insert a PAUSE in your life to reflect upon the goodness of God and all He has done in your past, then sit back and let God take care of your present situation. SELAH.
